The Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism is pleased to announce that the 14th Annual Governorís Volunteer Service Awards will be accepting nominations soon! Nomination forms will be accepted through January 16, 2015, with the award recipient announcement made in March 2015. Those selected as this yearís recipients of the Governorís Volunteer Service Award will be honored at a special reception in April 2015.

Recipients will be honored with the Award, which is considered to be the highest volunteer award in the state of Arizona. One award is given in each category. Panels of statewide judges select the recipients based on the following criteria: need, action, innovation and impact. Additionally, all nominees will receive special recognition for being nominated.

Individual Volunteer Service Awards

    Adult: Individuals 18 years of age or older at time of nomination
    Lifetime Achievement: Individuals who have exemplified the ideals of service over the past 25 years or more
    National Service: Current or alumni individual members of AmeriCorps State, National, Tribal, VISTA and Senior Corps
    Youth: Individuals 17 years of age or younger at the time of nomination
 

Group Volunteer Service Awards

    Large Organization: Businesses, government, civic service, Citizen Corps, and other recognized organizations that engage 101 or more individuals in volunteer service in the organization’s name
    Nonprofit: Organizations that are registered as a 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 nonprofit entity with the Internal Revenue Service that engage volunteers
    Small Organization: Businesses, government, civic service, Citizen Corps, and other recognized organizations that engage 100 or less individuals in volunteer service in the organization’s name
    Youth Group: Groups of two or more youth, 17 years of age and younger at the time of nomination
