Arizona Substance Abuse Partnership (ASAP)

Established on June 13, 2007 by an Executive Order issued by Governor Napolitano, the Arizona Substance Abuse Partnership (ASAP) serves as the single statewide council on substance abuse issues. ASAP brings together stakeholders at the federal, state, tribal and local levels to: improve coordination across state agencies; address identified gaps in prevention, treatment and enforcement efforts; and improve fund allocation. ASAP utilizes data and practical expertise to develop effective methods for integrating and expanding services across Arizona, maximizing available resources. ASAP also studies current policy and recommends relevant legislation for the Arizona Legislature’s consideration.

This body existed in a similar capacity as the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG) Advisory Council, a requirement of the federal SPF-SIG grant, and continues to serve in this role.
