| Membership |
The Commission is comprised of up to 25 members appointed by the Governor. The Commission brings together health care providers, hospitals, community health centers, universities, non-profits, as well as local government and business leaders. Membership is comprised of voices for women and children that represent geographic and ethnic diversity. The following state agencies serve on the Commission as ex-officio members: The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), First Things First, The Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board, the Department of Economic Security (DES), and the Governor’s Office. |

| Purpose |
While Arizona has seensubstantial progress in strengthening the health care system, we still face high rates of uninsured children, teen and unplanned pregnancy, and obesity. The Commission is focused on improving the health of women and children through collaboration and innovation, while also reducing health care costs. |
