| Arizona Vision for Youth Task Force |
| |
| The Governor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families (GOCYF) Divisions for Children and Community Youth Development are now jointly responsible for this effort, now called the Arizona Vision for Youth Task Force, which has been meeting on a regular basis since 2005. |
| |
| Overview: |
| In 2004 the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued federal guidance announcing their Shared Vision For Youth strategy with the purpose to coordinate the delivery of workforce activities to better serve the neediest youth. Over the past three years a partnership has been developed to address workforce issues for this population. |

|
In September, 2006 the Arizona Vision for Youth Task Force was competitively selected by the U.S. DOL to be one of 16 states to attend an advanced training forum with a working group of Arizona representatives to discuss a work plan and strategies to serve Arizona’s neediest youth. Based on this selection and the team’s participation in this event, Arizona is eligible and will be competing to for funding to implement a pilot program. |
