Grant Information
 

The Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families (GOCYF) has a responsibility for distributing approximately $20 Million in state and federal funds each year. Public and private sector organizations that address one or more of the issues identified by GOCYF can apply for these funds. Grants are then awarded through a formal application process.

   AmeriCorps State Grant
AmeriCorps provides grants to public and nonprofit organizations who sponsor and participate in service programs across the country. Grants help these groups recruit, train and place AmeriCorps members where they can help communities meet needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.
   Arizona Parents Commission on Drug Education & Prevention
The Arizona Parents Commission funds programs and initiatives dedicated to enhancing parental involvement and increasing education about the serious risks and public health problems caused by substance abuse.
   ASPIRE Program

In September 2013, the U.S. Department of Education awarded the PROMISE Initiative (Promoting Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income) to a six state consortium.  The consortium, Achieving Success by Promoting Readiness for Education and Employment (ASPIRE).  Arizona will recruit and enroll 1, 050 low-income youths with disabilities who are between the ages of 14 and 16 in a program designed to improve their educational and employment outcomes.

   Child Abuse Prevention License Plate Donation Grant

This program is a partnership between GOCYF and the Arizona Republic Charities and its funding partners. The goal of this program is to raise funds for primary child abuse prevention – stopping child abuse before it occurs.

   Children’s Justice Act Grant
Promotes proper handling of child abuse cases, particularly cases of child abuse and exploitation, to limit additional trauma to the child.
   Compliance Monitoring
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Forms and Resources.
   Juvenile Accountability Block Grant
Provides states and local units of government with funds to encourage the development of juvenile justice policies and procedures, and programs that promote juvenile accountability for criminal behavior.
   Rural Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Assistance Program
Coordinates battered immigrant women teams with domestic violence victim service programs to educate and train professionals about the dangers present for immigrants in Arizona. This grant is an effort to raise community awareness about immigrant victimization and to prevent violence.
   Safe Havens Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Grant
The Safe Havens: Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Grant Program (Supervised Visitation Program) provides an opportunity for communities to support the supervised visitation and safe exchange of children in situations involving domestic violence, dating violence, child abuse, sexual assault, or stalking.
   School Age Grants (Child Care Development Funds)
Provides training and technical assistance for before and after school child care providers.
   Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment Grant
Provides funding to the five northern Arizona counties for alcohol and drug misuse and abuse screenings in primary care, hospital, and university settings, brief interventions to address risky use, and referrals to treatment for clients who meet criteria for more intensive treatment services.
   State Epidemiological Work Group (SEOW) Grant
Supports the Community Data Project (CDP) and provides training and technical assistance to guide a data-driven decision-making process that utilizes the CDP and other data sources.
   STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant
Provides systematic and sustained focus on permanent systems change within our criminal justice system, while simultaneously developing a comprehensive network of domestic violence and sexual assault victim service advocates and programs throughout Arizona communities.
   Title II Formula Grant
Provides funds for the creation of programs that support the core requirements of the JJDP Act. Targets areas that are considered significant challenges to the juvenile justice system and focuses on reducing risks and enhancing protective factors to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system.
