| |
The Governor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families, Division for Community and Youth Development in collaboration with the Corporation for National and Community Service (federal funding agency) annually convene the Governor’s National and Community Service Conference. The conference hosts 300 participants from all facets of national service in Arizona, including but not limited to, AmeriCorps National and State, VISTA, Tribal and Senior Corps programs. In addition, the conference is used as a vehicle through which quarterly meetings are convened, including the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism and Governor’s Youth Commission.
The Governor’s 13th Annual National and Community Service Conference was a gathering of individuals who volunteer and provide vital human and environmental services to the State such as early childhood literacy and forest health and fire mitigation. The conference theme, Be The Change. Unite and Serve, was inclusive of all streams of service and bridged service and volunteerism in Arizona through: |
- Professional Development
- Service Ethic through Community Service Projects
- Networking Opportunities Across Programs
- Personal Enrichment
- Team Building
|
Participants also took part in community service projects that had a significant impact on the Flagstaff community. |
