| Objective: |
| The objective of the Arizona Civil Rights Project is to honor Dr. King by promoting Dr. Kings teachings and legacy while addressing challenges facing Arizona communities. Local municipalities and communities will meet the following objectives of the Arizona Civil Rights Project by: |
- Providing juvenile probationers –some of Arizona’s “neediest” youth – an opportunity to partner with community leaders to identify and address community needs as explained in Dr. King’s teachings of the “Triple Evils” of poverty, racism and war.
- Engaging volunteers, including juvenile probationers in service activities on or around National Days of Service. Including Martin Luther King, Jr. and Cesar Chavez Day.
- Encouraging volunteers, including juvenile probationers, to register on the President’s Volunteer Service Awards website in an effort to track volunteer hours and service experience. https://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/tgact/ros/dspROSlogin.cfm
